About Us - Meet the Maker
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words 'ami,' meaning crocheted or knitted, and 'nuigurumi', meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features, as is typical in Japanese culture.
Welcome to YarnsEnd Creations! My name is Kalyse and I am the owner of YarnsEnd Creations.
I am a mum to two beautiful children and love to Crochet in my spare time, what has started off as a downtime hobby has now become a labour of love!
I taught myself to crochet over lockdown in 2020 and haven't looked back.
I got into creating Handmade Crochet Amigurumi Plushies initially to find a hobby for myself and thought it would be really neat to make a teddy for my Son.... from there I became addicted!
I’m based in Tauranga, New Zealand and all my crochet cuddlies come from a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
I really enjoy creating these cute crochet toys and seeing them come together and I think that the best thing about hand made is that each toy looks slightly different.
These handmade toys make a wonderful gift, as crochet cannot be replicated on a machine these creations are unique and something a little special.
I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do!
