About Us - Meet the Maker
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words 'ami,' meaning crocheted or knitted, and 'nuigurumi', meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features, as is typical in Japanese culture.

Welcome to YarnsEnd Creations!
Hi, I’m Kalyse, the heart and hands behind YarnsEnd Creations.
I’m a proud mum to two beautiful children and a passionate crocheter based in Tauranga, New Zealand. What began as a relaxing hobby during the 2020 lockdown quickly blossomed into a labour of love, and I haven’t looked back since!
It all started with a simple goal: to create a handmade teddy for my son. That one project sparked a deep passion for crafting handmade crochet Amigurumi plushies, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Every piece I create is lovingly handmade in a smoke-free, pet-free home. One of the things I adore most about crochet is how every toy turns out slightly unique – no two are ever exactly the same, making them truly special.
My crochet cuddlies are perfect for gifts, offering something heartfelt and unique that can’t be replicated by a machine. Each creation is designed to bring joy, warmth, and a little magic into your life.
Thank you for supporting my small business.
I hope you love my creations as much as I love making them!
